Regular Chiropractic Care Helps Children Develop Into Healthy Adults

Rarely do child care books talk about the proper care of a baby's spine and nervous system. Yet, it may be in infancy that serious problems like subluxations, spinal curvatures, or other structural distortions begin. It is also in early childhood when these issues are most easily and effectively corrected, before the body has accommodated itself to the problem. As children grow older and become more active their bodies may receive more stress in a single day than an adult receives in an entire year. Bumps, jumps, twists, and falls constantly subject the growing spine to potential long term injury and damage. All too often these injuries go unnoticed or untreated. It is unsettling to think of the possible long term damage to the bones, but because the spine also houses the spinal cord, an essential part of the nervous system, the entire health of the child could potentially be at stake. A wide range of childhood and adult ailments such as chronic pain, headaches, weak immune system, arthritis, and even degenerative discs may be caused, originally, by "normal" childhood mishaps. Common ills of childhood such as colds, rashes,"tummy aches", flus, and "growing pains," usually respond well to chiropractic care, too. Chiropractic adjustments can also help to correct the nerve interferences or irritations that may cause the immune system to overreact and cause allergies and asthma, or even skin rashes. Completion of a child's spinal development does not occur until he/she is around 25 years old. Until then, but especially up to the end of the rapid grow period, usually around age 15-19, the spine is extremely vulnerable to abnormal development. Along with regular medical, dental, optical, and other health check ups be sure your child receives regular chiropractic care. Give your child every opportunity to develop into a normal healthy adult!
